Just another guy, really.
Dimebag, Hendrix, Satrani, Segovia, hell, even Clapton- there is at least ONE person who just hates their sound, and can't, for the life of him/herself, figure out what all the fuss is about. This thread is your chance to let it out. A few rules, please:

One dissed guitarist per member, please.

If you just GOTTA call someone out, only one call-out post per member, too. That means you gotta choose who you want to defend/who you want to beat to a quivering pulp for having the sheer, un-adultrated audacity to stomp on your own personal Guitar God.

You can just throw up (no pun intended) a name and leave it at that, but post that include your reasons for hating this person will no doubt be much more entertaining.

Because this is my post, I reserve soul rights to choose a winner, and a whiner.

There is no set time limit for post, for those whom I annoit as the best and the worst; I will make my decision when I am damn well good and ready.

Don't hold back. Let us all know, once and for all, how you REALLY feel.

I'll take the easy one, I guess, `cause I'm lazy: Yngwie Malmsteen. One of the worlds primer proponents of baseless arrogance. I don't mind terribly if someone is an prick, as long as they can back it up when they play. In other words, being an arrogant asshole is OK, but a talentless arrogant asshole is the bottom of the barrel.

I'll have to think about it for a while. I'm sure that as people start ragging I'll find the right player.

I do dislike Malmsteen quite a bit for his personality. But I couldn't call him talentless myself. He's got very good technical abilities, it just doesn't appeal to me. None of the shredders appeal to me, its just not very musical for the most part. I have a lot of respect for anybody with that level of coordination but number of notes and the "look what I can do" approach just doesn't factor into the quality of a piece for me.

Same for all of the new wave of metal guitarists (and hell the old wave of metal guitarists for that matter). I'm just getting old I guess, but none of this new metal stuff appeals to me at all. Guitar World is chock-full of the new generation of metal head, 7-stringed, angst-ridden, tattooed, down-tuned, oily-haired guys with angry looks on their faces.

So I can't single out one shredder to rag on. I'll have to think of a guitarist that really irritates me. I'm a-cookin' up a-something!

As a seven string player, please don't judge us ALL based on the first couple Korn albums - you can do a lot more with a seven than bash away on the bottom three strings through 15 effects pedals. ;)

Its not that I totally hate Angus Young, just most of his little pentatonic noodling. I dig AC/DC but you would think after playing so long he'd kinda progress a bit,but it all sounds the same to me...boring.
 
I'm gonna have to say me.

I think I'm freakin' awesome but not many agree. Despite having chops to die for nobody ever appreciates my carefully created solo's that build the tension and release it at just the right moment. My use of the dissonant passing notes is only surpassed by my ability to land on an even worse one.

I also have a limitless range of body posses and facial expressions to prompt the audience when I'm about to doing something really momentous and I definitely over use them. I have learned to disguise all this behind a range of ridiculously distorted tones and insist on playing so load so that if I'm having a bad gig no one will notice.

What do I win?

OMG....so many to choose from. But the one guitarist who has the least talent and the most arrogance out there has to be Kerry fucking King. Some idiots might call his brand of aimless noise brilliant, And I'm pretty sure those guys are either deaf or drooling. Kerry King even has his own signature series guitar!! I like Slayer (although since seasons in the abyss there has been no need to ever own more than one Slayer album) but Kerry King wins my douche bag guitarist of all time award! I would call out Jeff Hanneman as well......but there are rules, and Kerry is a bigger cock.

Ya but Madonna looks a hell of a lot better sporting that LP and top hat than Slash does and probably plays the Lp better too:cool:

His ego surpasses Yngie easily.... He's a famous Roland rep! Not nearly as cool as that blond guy (Rob Marcello) that shreds for the Boss stompers though. ;)
