Equipment: korg pa3x,zynxz 802, audiobox usb keylab 49. Comp good studio one basic(came with audiobox. I had problems with the disk until presonus helped)
The korg is plugged into 3-4 on the zynyz.
Comp out to rca in on zynyz( I press the 2 tr to mix to hear youtube or other)
Main out on zynyz goes to mic/ins input on audiobox.
Audio box out to m-audio monitors.
Keylab (usb) midi in out to audiobox. Those are the connections so far.Anything I've missed?
I use the korg to put down a backing track for songs and then use the presonus m7 for vocal into audiobox input one. I like the result and know I need to learn more.
2 questions 1: every thing I use is mono. I can't record in stereo (well I can but only one track shows. Why do I need it or do I?
2: Is there a better way of doing all this. I'm 72 YO and don't have forever to learn all this. OH why didn't they have this when I was 20. It's a ball and I'm having fun.
I like the grrrr when it does not work and the adrenalin when it does.

From what you describe it looks to me like you've got all your ducks lined up nicely.

Q1: I can't really help you because I am not familiar with Studio One, but I expect that being able to record or playback stereo is governed by Studio One settings.

Q2: Maybe not a better way, but maybe one less step to worry about: you can ditch the mixer and take korg audio straight into the audio box and likewise the microphone.

Are you arming two tracks (no idea how Studio One works....)?

Ditch the mixer.

Ok you all seem to have something against the mixer. But if I do, I don't understand where I can get normal(like youtube ) sound to come in. Do I make a special lead or something.
I have hooked the korg straight into the audiobox and I can't tell any discernible difference. Maybe some instruments are a little sharper but not enough to ditch the setup I have.
Before the m-audio monitors I had a tired old amp and a couple of front 5to1 speakers. The computer went to the amp and all was fine except for the sound. Nowhere near as good as now.
Should I just get a cheap little set of computer speakers just for the computer and then do what you suggest?

edit No I'm not arming 2 tracks. Why would I do that. Would that not be the same as stereo?

If your audiobox is hooked to the computer with USB and setup it will become the sound card for the computer and the YouTube and other stuff will play thru it. Mixer is just another thing eating at the signal
Before it gets to the recorder, don't need it if you are recording just one or two inputs at a time.

You don't need to dump the mixer. It's just a piece of equipment that you could omit and removes one extra area in which things can go wrong. However, if you are comfortable with it, keep it.

The more pressing issue is: "I can't record in stereo (well I can but only one track shows. Why do I need it or do I?"

If you have a stereo signal coming out of the keyboard and into the mixer via the two channels (3 & 4), and you have those two channels panned left and right, and you have a stereo track enabled in Studio One, you should be able to record and playback in stereo

Mmm I have made a lead for the keyboard with LR mono jacks to a single mono jack for the audiobox. Apparently, the L out on KB is not a stereo plug. I also thought that the input on instrument plugs only took mono. Sorry I'm not well versed on this mono stereo thing. Will have to read more wiki.

You are half way there.

Get a lead to go from L out on Korg to L in on the mixer's channels 3/4.
Get a lead to go from R out on Korg to R in on the mixer's channels 3/4.

Record onto a stereo track in Studio One
