A few technical notes: This is the first track I have been able to get out of Logic (Nice software, but steep learning curve if you want to hook up a control surface). It is another live recording of Mean Town done with each mic assigned its own track on 2 ADATs. The Bass was direct via a balanced pre-amp out.

I took some of the advice I received from my last post and applied it here except I couldn't double the guitar. I am sure there is a way to do it in Logic, I just haven't found the way yet. I'll probalby have to alias the track and apply some 20-40 mSec modulated delay.

Finally. Some blues around here.

Great interplay between harp and sax. If I had to pick on anything, it would be the drum sound. Can't put my finger on it - wasn't the performance - perhaps a little too dry.

Oh oh!!! The distorted guitar just ruined it! Decent playing. Classic "fake dist pedal" sound. Easy to fix - throw the $%^$&^ pedal or whatever in the garbage and crank a tube amp.

Wet the drums, fix the lead guitar sound - and you're definitely in business. Great feel. Got anything else? I love this stuff.

Yeah go to http://www.lamoateffe.com:81/ I have a few more clips, and I'll be posting some more. I also have an FTP site but I will only give out the address via email

I can't do anything about the distortion. It was a pedal through a Fender Twin.

Those pesky drums. I could loosen up the gate on the kick, hi hat and snare, that might make them sound a little better. It was a live recording though and I an hesitant to throw more verb on it.

AAARRRGGGHH!

I just found out that tune was mixed at 44.1KHz while the tracks were reordered at 48K. The whole thing is slow and flat compared to the original tracks. Logic is great, but man, you can make so many mistakes with it.

I have to fix the automation and re-render it.

All Fixed!

I fixed the mix and the 48K problem. The file is at the same URL as in the first post. I think the drums and guitar sound much better.
