can tell, there is either some terible phasing problems or some terible reverb! But to me, my toms sound bigger, warmer, deeper, punchier and more resonate!
how so? i dont think your toms are the best sounding toms and i like mine more. now I should be shot? I really respect you and your posts on the mics and pro-audio stuff. Dont freak out cause there is a opinion difference!
No, you're right. Sorry, I got a little frustrated. We're talking to someone on a budget and I'm trying to illustrate that even inexpensive drums can sound good if you have the right understanding of tuning and equipment. Everyone likes the sound of their own drums unless they think their drums are crap. Point is you can get good results with alot of options.
Keep in mind also that track was done in my home studio, not a pro session like you keep going to. Maybe if I kill the reverb.
I may have to change my description to "Thread Hijacker"...
tilinmyowngrave, you still there? Hang in there, buddy!!!
i FINALLY found a store where you can test the drums... its an hour and a half by bus, but im gonna make the trip this weekend. ANyways, thanks so much for the help! :-D
