Help with my delta 66 and mackie 1202

But how does the sound get OUT of your PC and into the Mackie? I have the same setup and what I do is have my 2 sources (My Great River MP2) into the Delta's IN 1/2. This is what I select to record from in my software (N-Track). To monitor what I am recording, I use the Delta Control Panel to route IN 1/2 to OUT 1/2. OUT 1/2 goes into 2 line-level channels on my Mackie. Thus I can contol the level of each mic/keyboard/whatever as I'm tracking. I then instruct N-Track to output the master bus to the Delta's WAV OUT 1/2 and then direct this to HW OUT 1/2 from the Delta Control Panel. HW OUT 1/2 then goes into a stereo channel on the Mackie, so when I'm overdubbing, my Mackie goes something like -
Channel 1 - Channel 1 of my preamp (or keyboard)
Channel 2 - Channel 2 of my preamp (or keyboard)
Channel 5/6 - What has already been recorded on the PC, playing back as I overdub.

I have to remember to either turn my monitors off (which are plugged into the Master Out of the Mackie) or send Channel 1/2 and 5/6 to the Alt 3/4 bus, which I assign to the headphone output. This ensures that nothing comes out of the monitor speakers while I'm tracking.

How do I listen to whats already been recorded?

I listen thru my computer thru cool edit pro.

The only reason I had headphones plugged into the mixer was because I wanted to hear what was being recorded.

Check your assignments in the M-audio control screen. Your routing may be set up so that you're trying to read the same signal twice - meters should show if you're hitting on more than one device. Then either fix your routing or mute the "extra" input.
