I used a program called 'CDex' to convert the finnished CD of this song to MP3 and the MP3 ended up sounding plain nasty - on the high end in particular. Please give a listen and advise if I converted the file improperly(?) or if there is a better free program such as CDex on the net for converting audio CD to MP3 files. Thanks!

check the mp3 conversion settings in cdex. you want at least 128 kbs bit rate and 44,100 hz sample rate........higher if your server allows it. I hear alot of distortion. i don't think that is a typical wave to mp3 artifact. usually I get a warbly, chorusy sound when I convert too low. are you converting directly from wav to mp3? what bit rate and sample rate are you recording at?

btw, mp3's kinda suck in general anyway but we work with what we can.

You were correct; I didn't realize the bit rates were variable in CDex. It was set at 56kbps and I've now reset it to 256kbps - big difference! Thank you!
