Ok i narrowed it down to either Mackie, Allen & Heath, Tascam.
I am going to record digitaly, and what i figure is that i need atleast 16 tracks. So what im going to possibly do is use a tascam 1884 as a interface to control the faders on cubase.
so with the 1884 i could go.
Instruments->tascam 1884(with fe-8 8 track add on)-> computer.
then i can also control the computer funcstions with the tascam right?
Ok the next way would be either a mackie onyx but i cant use that as a daw right? I cant controll the computer programs with it? I hear it is only one way?
Then the next would be soemthing by allen Heath, I think something like a mix wiz 16.
how do they compare quality wise? What about sound?
Im going to be using it soley for recording.
It needs to be able to simultaneously track like 8 instruments, and be able to track over it with other things / overdubs. Would I need Midi technology for that?
Thanks
Mike
