What do you have in the back? Main out, tape out, busses?

Peavey.com has the manual on line for that mixer.

Not the best choice for recording but it'll work. How you hook it up depends on your sound card and your expectations. What do you have and what do you want to record?

i plan on getting a usb analog to digital converter to plug into my computer. the back has an A and B main outputs, monitor output, tape output, etc.

wont a $300 analog to digital converter help a lot? what do you guys think?
an old man sold me this mixer for real cheap. gotta love it.

I just bought a huge mackie mixer and a M-Box usb interface to route it through my laptop.

usb will be fine depending on what software you have. i recommend one of the more pricey M-Boxes because they have stereo outputs insteade of just mono like the one that i bought. it might cost you a bit though.

i DON'T recommend buying a cheap usb interface. i bought the m-audio fasttrack and i was more than disappointed with its performance. For amateur recording, the m-box is your best bet.
:D :D

so it is possible to hook up that mixer to my computer with a usb analog to digital converter? i was thinking about getting an m-box 2. what do you guys think?

let me know if this is possible. i understand that if i record more than one instrument at a time with the mixer.. im not going to be able to edit it once it is on my computer. im just doing some "not so great" recordings.

here's a picture of my outputs. before i buy the m-box 2.. i just want to know if its possible to get my sound to my computer. let me know people. thanks!

also.. here is the manual if it helps anyone answer my questions... i can read it at all.

I rather would go with a interface with more i/o's than analog 2 ins 2 outs of the mbox. If your recording just 1 instrument & 1 vocal, just the mbox 2 without the mixer would work. If you want to record more than 2 instruments, you might want to get something with more io's like the delta 1010 or something like that & route each channel in.
