Done, click my sig.

Great, thanks. I think I'm getting it now. Of course at around 2:00, I start to think the song's going into a fadeout, but then it keeps going

I have heard this song, my friend sang it for me. I am just not presenting it right. :o

Its REAl simple and REAL predictable. Of course I record symphonies by myself so perhaps I underestimated the simplicity. :D
David, if I might suggest something, can you make a mix with Gorty's rhythm, to just the simple drumbeat you have? See how that sounds.

I dont have Gortys part alone.

One Mo thang:

This is "Heartbreak Hotel". Just faster. Think about the beginning of that song and this is the SAME thing! :D

Do you want all effects removed, I have some reverb on the tracks??

Thats fine as long as you didnt use "Indoor tiled pool" or "Olyimpic Stadium" :D

David, I have a guitar part...it follows Gorty's at times, and I left some blank space. You can cut and paste what you want. Here is the file over Gorty's work..... Doodle

I can put up the individual file if you want it. I also have it in 2 seperate parts, as I had some timing issues and didn't want to punch in, so I just built it. Jus le me kno, K.... :D

Great! Sure, I would love the individual parts, it will help everybody a lot I think. Once I get SOMETHING happening it will al make sense I think. Thanks a lot.

Here is the Guitar Only......
It's a stereo file, but really 2 mono guitars panned L/R, so you can split it easily.
got it, its loaded in Sonar. In the morning I will edit this and post a version that everyone can work with. Thanks Ed!

As predicted MS nailed it, great job.

OK, click my link and check out Mad Dog, we have our structure now

Meh, it was a so-so job, although I think I only used bits of 8 takes, not really 24 :o 24 sounded more impressive though :D My timing could have been better. I'll just tell myself I was responding to the groove that will be on the real drum track :o :o

You'll be pleased to know I could keep up with the synth bass low notes as I was actually playing a bass cello! This is the first full song I've cut since changing to C-G-D-A, it's like learning a new instrument, almost :)

I am the King of editing, you are gonna sound like a metronome. :D

So you took a normal bass and tuned it in fifths instead of fourths? Doesnt that mess with the intended string tension? Would be a LOT easier for actual cellists to play bass if they could keep their tuning, thats a pretty cool idea.

I was a bass player many years ago, I havent touched it since college. I was going to get one but I am poor and lazy.

Well I have a short scale bass these days. At 30.5", it's much closer to cello length than a real bass (42" for a 3/4 size, but you probably knew that). Effectively, that makes my open string roughly the length of a normal electric bass (34") second fret.

I got the idea after playing an upright for a few months. You really gotta move your hand big time on those bad boys! So I figured, it's pretty lazy to play a short scale bass tuned in fourths, and if I retuned, I would have a 5 string bass range

So I took a 5 string set, used the B for a C, the E for a G, the D for the D, and the G for an A. So that gives me tension within a whole step for all strings, as compared to a standard electric scale length :)

I did have to recut the nut slot on the bottom two strings, and of course reset intonation. The intonation still isn't great on the C string, but I don't generally play that string above 5th fret, so no worries.

Hey MS, nice job. That sounds pretty cool to me.

Thanks a lot Gorty!

I am loading all this up now, gonna edit a bit then....... take my nap. :o I will post all of this together tonite, this should sound pretty darn good!!!!!

OK kids, click my sig for the newest version. There is a measure of bass missing, dont worry I'm putting it back. I edited a bit of bass, it doesnt need much.

Dogman and Gorty: your stuff works surprisingly good together  Its just a draft but this sucka is SHAPIN UP INTO MUSIC. I am a mediocre Home recording guy but a kickass editor, I will make the edits cleaner.

Also keep in mind:

This is a DavidK production. Those who have heard DavidK productions know that they are HUGE, there will be a lot of tracks on this sucker. I will start adding Keyboards tonite. The errr, ummm...gasp...... fiddle :o stuff will go in at the very end probably so I dont step over the vox.

Oh, I only looked at one of Gortys parts, I will do the other later.
