Yup, 3 chords. Thats it. Grab your axes and get a-pickin and a-grinnin. The more the merrier, I am the Edit King.

OK Kids,

I need to get this going. Any ideas? Do I need to make a better midi file? The one posted was the one sent to me. This tune is REAL simple. Not much I can do until I get some basic tracks down.

I will mess with it and post a better mp3 to work with.

I rehearsed it a bit on Fri. night, I'll cut my track tonight. However I will probably want to rerecord once the drums are down, right now there is so much kick-free open space it's tough to do much but double the left hand piano part.

Cool.

I updated the song. I think you'll be impressed at the great job I did and the amount of time I spent on it.

Its for the fellers

Again, just a guideline. I was thinking the stop/start/ first beat stuff would be just at the beginning then we go into a standard rock beat.

count me in if you need another guitar or keyboard.

Cool. I just want to get something down. I play keys, but if you want to try some keys go for it, I can always use some ideas. I am not a particularly good honky tonk blues player, mine will send like Emerson Lake and Palmer.

Hey DavidK,

I have recorded a couple of guitar tracks, very basic, they are virtually some clean ringing chords, following your piano, there is so much open space that I was having trouble trying to really know what to lay down. I kept on following the Marimba which would throw me off. I also have some double picking which follows the root notes of the chords.
I will have a listen to this revised track and see if that is any different to work with.

If you pm me with your email I can post the tracks to you or I can post the whole piece here in mp3 so you can hear it in context.

I will probably want to retrack once we have the drums and bass etc.

Gorty :)

I have just listened to the revised edition, and I am thinking some rocking guitar as well.

I was working on a basic rhythm.....is this something you want, or too messed up? Song

Very cool! Something like that would work on the second verse when it gets going. In about 5 minutes I will post the beginning, you will see. Sounds very good.

OK the song is updated, click the link in my sig.

The first two measures of drums are merely a metronome countoff. We do a four bar intro then follow the rhythm, its pretty simple stuff. after the first lil verse we go into straightforward rock tell the end.

The middle sections ( chorus?) will be a lil lighter.

Great  email sent.

Dave,

I don't think the link worked that I sent in the email, hopefully this will get you a listen of some clean ringing chords and a single note guitar line. If you are interested, these clean chords could be layered underneath some rhythm guitar to add texture and a little bit of flavour maybe!

Song for DavidK

Let me know if you want any wav files sent!
