Hi,
I have 3 mics to mic up my drum kit, and a 4 track recorder. The recorder only has 2 inputs... I was wondering if it was possible to somehow still record all 3 mics with the recorder, without buying a mixer? If not, what is the cheapest decent mixer that would do the job?

please help out.

Cheers,
Stan

Not really, You could do a bounce down all 3 trax to 1 track but you would be better off using 2 room mics 1 in front and 1 behind you that way you capture most of the kit, Cheap mixer would be a Behringer but only thing about Behringer is being reliable and quality of the sound. but my buds had his for a few years and only problem he has had 1 channel go out of the 32 that he has. you need to invest in PC recording way better then the old 4 tracker cassets.

Thanks for your reply. Is the quality of the Behringer mixers bearable? I'm on a tight budget, so anything bearable for a cheap price is good enough for me.

PS. The 4 track recorder is a Zoom MSR-4 digital recorder.

Cheers,
Stan

Yamaha MG 10/2 - US$99.95

Econo-mixer, but it'll fit your needs and is a better sounding design than the Berhinger.

I just bought the 10/2 for my kid. $99

He wanted more than one input into the soundcard on his pc.

Just starting out in the recording and also his band practices...
I figured the mixer would be more versatile versus a USB PC interface or powered mixer which I was also looking at.

amazing, he'll have a nice recording setup with free software and a $99 mixer!
and a live-practice mixer for the other times.
