I tried reamping it too, although the original isn't as bad as you made it out to be...really not too bad.


I don't do a lot of reamping, but I ran it through a V-AMP Pro and used the free and easily downloaded SIR 1010 VST plugin withTCI6000A impulses for reverb.

You have a nice touch on the strings - a nice tube little tube amp like the Epiphone valve junior would be a worthwhile investment, or if not then even a modeler the POD or V-AMP would give you more flexibility than going 100% direct if you are just recording riffs and stuff...

Don't get me ranting about that valve junior again. I don't like it stock but it can be turned into something nice.

Awesome, really. Thanks so much. Sounds a lot better. I notice on the hard strums/chords that it distorts a little (not clipping) but the sound gets harsh. Might just have to play a little softer. That's probably cause my pickup sucks. Or I'm just not playing right.

Actually, if I disable the MyMag it fixes it for the most part. And still sounds a lot better/more realistic.

Sounds pretty damn good. :cool: Thanks. I'm starting to consider maybe getting a POD or something just for direct recording. I'm still gonna save for a nice amp but it's nice having the option of a good direct-recording sound when you need it.

Pretty nice. I haven't been able to get a good distorted/overdriven sound yet, but I haven't messed with that much on the SimulAnalog plugins...mainly been trying to get a good clean tone. ;)
 
There are a lot of distortion plugins out there that can transform the simulanalog sims. Tape sims, overdrives, tube sims, etc. Tons of stuff available for free. You can get a bunch of decent sounds by combining and swapping the order of these with the simulanalog sims.
 
Just a modest suggestion: When your equipment isn't the very best, you obviously want it to sound as good as it can, so I very highly recommend tuning your B and e strings as they're both playing pretty flat.

Other than that, the playing is pretty clean and the direct sound with effects doesn't sound bad at all. Keep up the good work over there! :cool:
