Alright right now i have my studio in the inlaw apartment in my house which my parents dont rent out... one room i use as my control room one as my live room... my parents decided they want my grandmother to move in with us, thats fine with me and all, so now im being moved to a single room. my problem is when i record guitar i fear the amp will be to louder than the tracks the guitarist is trying to play along to... i dont keep my amp on too loud just loud enough so i can get a fairly loud track without duplicating it... please help me what can i do... - Tommy

Fucanay....have you considered a modeler ? (Marshall) (Line 6) (Johnson) etc.....great sound....no unwanted noise generation....and a great clean guitar track with no buz.....its how its done. Plug it into the guitar and then to your console...monitor through you house system within the mix and your good to go. And you can still keep your grandma ...!...........she will love you even more.

well i dont really wanna go with a POD device i like my marshall quite fine, ill figure out something...

Honestly I would recommend the isolation headphones and a D.I. box, even if it is just for practice times. I predict way too much stress being created if you expect your grandmother to have to live in close proximity to your amp at all hours.

The Sennheiser HD280's sound great and will cut out almost any ambient noise. I do all my tracking in one room and they work great for guitarists and drummers.
