I am currently looking at these 4 inexpensive condenser microphones.

M Audio - Nova
MXL 990
MXL 2001
Studio Projects B-1

I want it for acoustic gtr and vocals, any suggestions on which one is better?

And just for fun, is anyone using the behringer C-1 Microphone? How is it?

Thank You

That's an interesting question you pose, and I was wondering if you could help me out, as I am currently faced with a dilemna I would greatly appreciate some help with. You see, I'm trying to choose between the following:

a) hitting myself in the head with a hammer

b) same as the above, only with a mallet

c) stabbing myself with a pencil

d) watching Averil Levigne videos and interviews all day long

I think chess is trying to tell you use the search function. This has been covered over and over and over and over again.

Just thought I tell you that in case you thought he went OT. :D

Depends how old you are.
At my age it's a B1 and a Demi Moore video-spare me the interview.

Chris

i did do a search first, couldn't find much.

hey chessrock try using the mallet.
Thanks for the help

Man, you must have searched really hard.

Pretty tough to find anything on the MXL's or the B1 around here. :D

To make things more complicated, I'd add the MXL V67g to your list...you can get it for around $90, and it's particularly great for male voices. I think it's great on acoustic guitar as well, although I can't say how it compares to the B1 or the 990.

None of the above.

Even if your on a really tight budget... you'd be better off with two separate mics IMO, one for acoustic guitar and another one for your vocal.

For example... maybe something like a MC012 or MXL603S for your acoustic guitar and then audition some mics until you find the one that sounds best for your voice (none of the mics you listed are good vocal mics IMO 'except I don't know about the Nova').

Be gentle. The search option is crippled since the software upgrade.
