Well, you could use ReaXComp. That has and unlimited amount of bands and the ratio goes to 100. From what I've learned, anything over 10 is basically working as a limiter.

The HP/LP in ReaComp only tells the compressor where to look for peaks, but if I remember right, the entire signal still gets compressed.

P.S. thanks for the kind words. Just trying to help out where I can :)

The compressor that came with Reaper (I have an old version still) has a ratio that goes to infinity (like a limiter) and has a selectable band. I suppose if you wanted to make it work on more than one band, you could setup more than one compressor.

i can't seem to find any of the generic reaper plugs... i must not have installed them correctly?

So basically any compressor that goes to infinity can be used as a limiter?

wierd. When I got Reaper, it came with dozens of plugins. I believe a limiter is basically just a compressor with really high compression ratio.

This isn't multiband, but here is a good free limiter... http://www.yohng.com/w1limit.html

Yeah, I'm thinking that I must have installed it wrong

The good news is, I went on a VST hunt when i got reaper and I do have a multi band compressor with a ratio that can go to 10:1 so if a 10:1 ratio on a comp does indeed act as a limiter I believe I should be safe.

Run the installer again and make sure the "Audio processing plugins" box is checked. No need to uninstall first either :)

In REAPER's FX browser, there should be a Cockos category and a JS category. The Cockos ones are the ReaPlugs (ie: ReaXComp their multiband compressor)
