Can anyone help me choose with some good advice, a rack type multi fx processor that does it all, good on vocals and bass too, not just guitar?
I thought of either getting a multi fx unit, or upgrading my computer to a 2ghz cpu to handle extra fx in Sonar. Right now I have a 1.5ghz, but can only run about 8 or 9 tracks with about 4 plug ins at once. I think it is an efficiency issue with my aardvark sound card too, but wanted some knowledge anyway about what to pick for a multi fx. Looking to spend about $200 or $300.
Any solid info would help. thanx

Save your money. Get waves pro fx or gold bundle. You can find the pro fx package for a little over $300.

FX Processor

I work with a Lexicon MPX500 (around that price range) and it works pretty well, 24bit, and is easy to operate. We use it in the studio on drums, bass, vocals, and guitar. In my opinion, Lexicons are superior processors to other brands in the studio, and they have the best reverbs of any unit. Most of the professional studios are using their PCM units.
