Hey y'all,

Ok, I bought two of these pickups (passive ones) and two LR Baggs Gigpro preamps to go with them. I installed the pickups in both my guitars (permanently with the endpin jack).

Now ... when I plug into the Gigpro and go out to my DMP3 preamp and into my soundcard, I get a buzz/hum. It's not overpowering, but it definitely shouldn't be there.

When I play out, I take a pedal board with that setup and use a Behri direct box. Last night I played an open mic. As I was getting ready, the sound guy said "there's a buzz .. do you have a ground lift on your direct box?" I flipped that, and boom ... noise went away.

So I came home and plugged into my Gigpro, out to my direct box (instead of the DMP3), and into the soundcard. Still had the buzz. I tried flipping the ground lift switch; either way, the buzz was there.

However, what I did notice is that when I hold the Gigpro or the direct box (i.e., touch them with my hand), the hum disappears.

So ... it seems that it's obviously some kind of grounding issue, but .. how do I fix it?

I get the same result trying either guitar through either Gigpro.

Anyone? Please .. this is driving me crazy!

Thanks!
