Sorry, I have another question. I just noticed the block diagram on the Zed shows the USB audio interface limited to stereo. I assume this would limit output to the computer to 2 tracks at any given time. Correct ?

Correct. Two channels into the PC, two channels out.

If you need more channels, look into USB 2.0 or Firewire interfaces. From your earlier description, though, it sounds like two would probably be enough.

For an all in one I think I'd stick with the Zoom R16, it's a known commodity, USB 2.0, no surprises. In the long run $100 is chicken shit money, to quote Little Enos Burdette. You know what you're getting. Great little device you will be happy with. But that's just my 0.02.
