HELP! Distorted Sound Problem...

Usually my ProTools works fine. I have LE 6.Something, and I'm running my mics/lines through MBox 1. But sometimes when I run a line or mic in, the sound is completely distorted. I mean, it'll sound fine through my monitor while I'm recording, but when I flip the Mix knob on the MBox over to Playback, the sound is shit, and it's usually after I've recorded a great track...:( Help!:confused:
 
Are you familiar with your gain staging? What type of levels are you recording at? Are you running a preamp INTO your mbox? or using the mbox pre's. Is the problem only sometimes? Try to describe it the best you can, I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to say.
 
Yes, even if I turn my gain all the way down, the sound, ONLY when I playback is completely distorted. Only using the MBox pre's. The problem is only sometimes. Should I record with the Mix knob set to Playback???

Please bounce down a section of your take, upload them to a server and give us the URL so we can "hear" the problem. 10 seconds will be OK, 320kbps MP3will be fine, unless you can upload small WAV files :)
