hehe,,,i think you're right..

i can understand 'old hands' getting ratty, but i don't like it so much when the new guy weighs in and starts shouting the odds...

idk, maybe it's just how i was brought up, but i remember being very careful to try not to step on toes when i was split new here...which wasn't all that long ago.

You seem like a decent bloke Steen..I have a bit of a big gob meself haha...bloody Scots ;)

thanks for that, and i return the compliment.

who's scottish? or did i miss something?

me for my sins...I think sometimes I have to stand back from our "Cha togar m'fhearg gun dioladh" attitude..

in the end, gekko basically agreed with darrin....it seems to me he just took issue with the way in which darrin made his point.

but...gekko made it known in a mature, sensible fashion, without starting an argument over it..
.

Excuse my style but since I have only limited use of my left arm I tend to be short and to the point...not trying to start an argument...but helping those starting out to not get geared up with cheap knock off products...the only good that does come out of this is that they also drive the prices down on the quality gear...but I wouldn't in my good conscious ever recommend the bad chinese knock-off gear to a friend.

it's all good,,,i take no issue darrin.

fwiw, i also agreed with you

I know...I just wanted to make sure my intentions were known...this guy has been sending me threatening PMs and and trying to sell people on these 2 lines of products in almost every post...which ammounts to spam...and he had the nerve to try to report me to a few of the mods.

I borrowed a Behringer 8 channel mixer form a friend to test my 38 when I first bought it and the pre's were grainy and loud, however, that mixer was old and well used so that might not be a good comparison of a new or or lightly used one. I guess it would depend on how good of a mixer you really need. I now have a Mackie PRO and love it. I only paid a little more then the Behringer model your looking at.

I just noticed Dodge Aspen...there must be alot of cars you could have chose for a name...why that one...lol.

Pretty much the same type of experience with my cheap behringer board...eventually it let some of the smoke out and it gave me the excuse to buy something nicer.

Like I said the competition with the quality products has brought the products prices down...now you will find that Mackie used for even less than the New Behringer a lot of the time...you might as well have quality.

got the behringer, like alot so far!

well i went tested all the channels and today setup into protools and am back to my vocal tracks through the bher instead of straight condensor mic into the mbox2 pro. gotta say, i am really liking it. i tweaked around the preset effects for awhile to find something that i liked that i would normally add to a flat track with my audiosuite in protools and found alot of fun built in stuff. but needless to say everything works great and no issues on the board . i will give it that it is not something roadworthy due to its plasticy design, but for my home studio where it will remain stationary it will be great. it is a huge leap from my vintage studiomaster board, wish i had for the drum tracks on this album, but theres always next time.

to add the new behr board definately doesnt feel as solid as my old one, does seem a bit flimsy but i would have to say that if your not mentally challenged and realize that something of this nature is not a toy to begin with than you shouldnt have too many issues. i am a maticulous (sp) person that cares for his stuff no matter what it cost and i see this lasting a loooong time. if it doesnt i will be the first to add that it didnt, but i think some should quit slamming the behr and let people see whats out there. i am probably gonna get slammed now on the board for that but oh well, if we arent here to share real experiences and field tests than why bother if you just wanna sit in your room with the yamaha and not ever realize what else is coming out, whats the point other than to defame useful cost efficient products in the market.

thanks for the input and i am glad i went against the grain as usual and didnt follow the majority of people who just slam on the forums. thanks to those who aren't narrow minded, you helped me upgrade a lil and without killing my wallet!

if it works for you then thats all that matters...nice one

hsg?

what are you asking? right now i am the new behr eurodesk 24 ch l/r patch cabled out on main l/r into the mbox2 pro's 2 channels. creating stereo tracks utilizing both mbox channels and the boards main stereo outs. running protools 8. dare i say it , since i saw here months after i bought now that they are garbage ,alesis m1 520 active studio monitors, but have no issues yet! sennheiser hd 280pro headphones, various cond and dyn mics.

and previous to yest it was that but using old studiomaster 12-2 diamond club series board i got for free. l/r out patch cabled to a Y into input(ch) 1 on mbox pro.

i am diy, bare bones, never instructed, and almost solely recorded grind / metal, and just did what i could with whatever. recently been buying like the monitors , comp monitor, board, etc.... what else you want from me? i was in bands and just wanted to make it happen as far as at least having a demo and kept going a lil with it. now i love it! almost rather record than play anymore. so i am trying to get more with it! but like jesus, i literally am just a carpenter so my wage is modest.

eh I think you've got me confused with someone else hahahaha

Im using two berrys myself at the moment...great mixers for the price and do my modest set up just nicely..use your cash where you can..I even buy used equipment, specifically keyboards, if I know I can sell them for more..I enjoy that just as much as playing and keeps the budget self contained (just bought a Technics AX7 for $75...needs a new key then can be worth around $300+...will take me a couple of hours to repair now Ive sourced a key :) )

Sounds like you've got a nice little set up there....enjoy*... I sure enjoy mine :D

*isn't that what its all about after all?
