Hi Everyone, this is actually my second post. First post was in the the studio building forum. I'm a drummer who is in the middle of building a drum room/ mixing room. I have read a lot of the info here for weeks and tried to get as much info as possible. don't want to ask the obvious newb questions that I can search and find the answers for right here. Anyway, I am going to try and get some pictures and specifics up to my original thread and hopefully get some feedback and answers to my questions.

Yup, Eric already gave ya the headzup on acoustics. Especially good since you plan on doing drums.

Room treatment would've been my first priority if I wasn't a bonehead when I first got into this. I just jumped in, spent alot of money and then had to back track on some stuff. Like my room...
It was frustrating.

So...take time to read thru Ethans goodz... the studio building place here...and check out Glen Kuras as well. Also a very knowledgeable decent guy.

Hi and thanks for the welcome Eric. I have been reading a lot of Ethan's info the man is a wealth of info, unfortunately for me it'll be more than a couple of reads through a small portion of his site, I wish I was bank rolled, I'd buy all his traps and diffusors I roll through Hartford every now and then, maybe I'll get some time to stop at his factory and check it out.

Hi Dogbreath, thanks for the welcome. I hope you get your room tamed down or treated as you want it, if you have not already. I have never done this before so as with everyone when they first start getting into this it can be overwhelming I'm just really trying to get it right as I go, but I would imagine that fine tuning your room will take place over a few sessions and then some

Yeah...it's kind of an "as you go" thing. At least it was for me.

I've had my room done for a couple of years now and it was, BY FAR, the best thing I could have done for my tracking AND my mixing. Which makes sense when you think about it. Bass waves are much stronger than your higher frequencies so if the place is untreated, the bass waves just bounce around and smear your sound to where you can't hear what's REALLY goin on.

So maybe start with a bass trap in each corner to the left and right of your mixing station and behind you in the corners. Just doin that will make a big difference.

hmmm...did I already write all this to ya? It feels like I already did. Anyway, if I did, disregard, if not, it'll help.
