Dreamings Not Reality(256Kbps MP3)

In the quest to find my drum sound here is another tune. It's pretty heavy and groovin.

I just finished up sampling my drumkit today too which will be available with the program Jamstix version 2 which is a pretty nice VST. My kit will be sold as a seperate affordable pack. You will get my set compression and EQ as well as the settings the Jamstix people use. Info on Jamstix can be found at Rayzoon.com.

I know this sounds like a comercial, but I think a decent amount of people know me and enjoy the drum sound I have. Anyway, I think I've hit the nail on the head with the drum sound, tamed the highs a bit, the snare sounds good and the kick is full and defined. Anything I may have missed?
 
Yeah, the drum sound is terrific.:cool: Not crazy about the screamo vocals but like the other vox quite a bit. Very nice stuff.:cool:
 
Drums sound fantastic. I'm still not crazy about the snare, but that's just my own personal taste. It sounds fine in the mix. Great job!
 
Thanks. I personally like this snare sound. It's not a standard snare, it's a 12X5 pork pie maple.

Screamo vocals? Do you mean the low growling parts?
 
Damn, those drums do sound great. I have a feeling that the first time I try to mic a kit, it's going to kill me. I've never done it. I've also only mixed more than just a stereo track a couple times. Luckily for me, the one who tracked them (BentRabbit) did it right...
Nice tune monkeymanx... those drums kick ass. The rest of the mix was balanced and solid, even if the genre wasn't my cup of tea.
 
Pretty cool though I haven't any way of accommodating gargle vocals in my head. In fact the gargle was a distraction and didn't enhance the lyrics. I really like the effected 2nd voice thing though.
Good song - the synth line works well too.
Drums - NICE & I quite like the little snare BECAUSE it's a change.

Don't get me wrong, the snare sounds great. I just like a big meaty snare sound for anything this heavy. Just my own taste. You did a very good job overall with these drum tracks.
 
Do the hihats seem too loud to anybody here?

I've only had one person on various boards mention it. I personally the drum sound and the crisp cymbals that I have. Any insight is good here.

The death metal vocals are what they are. I just thought they fit. I prefer singing to it, but I like to change up here and there.
 
the hats are a little loud, but they sound good. overall i think the snare and kick could come up a bit, especially the snare. otherwise everything sounds fantastic!
 
Sounds really cool man...nice and heavy. Great guitar sounds, and I like the tempo you chose...just fast enough, but not super fast.

I'm not real hip on the low growl vocals, as your voice is pretty good. I think with what you got, maybe a really low whisper there would sound killer...just an opinion.

All in all, it's a cool song...some excellent sounds. Drums sound great...I'd take that sound anyday.....:D
