what are the best headphones to use with the vf160 and whats the cost?

im using some cheap best buy headphones that lack alot of treble. any ideas on what phones are good to use when recording or mixing?

I use Sennheiser HD280's and love em. pretty comfortable and excellent sound and isolation. Also a bunch of the parts on them are replaceable should they wear out or break. They usually cost about $100

sound engineers will tell you not to mix with headphones, bad representation of spacial qualities and the real world of sound......although i have done it too hahahaha

just make shire to make a cd and listen to it on a lot of different cd players, take notes of what needs changed in the mix, go back and fix it and listen agian..

really best to use nearfeild monitors when mixing.....

here is a great lliink to why...

I use the Sennheiser 280Pro. But a lot of studios seem to use Fostex RP20's. (I think it RP, but anyway, there are Fostex 20's 40's and 50's). Make sure you get sealed back ones if you plan to use these near a mic while recording. The 20's go for about $70. at Musician's Friend.
