I have tinnitus. I think it gets worse when I use headphones. When actually listening, I realized that most headphones have very much high end, so I bought some really bassy ones, so I wouldn't have to turn up the volume so much to hear the bass.
Result: With the bassy headphones + the nega bass set to max, I now have a lot of bass, and a lot of high-end and no mids. And still get worse tinnitus when using headphones, even on low volumes.
Is there no solutions to this? ARe there no headphones under severl hundred $$$ that doesn't have loads and loads of high-end???
How's the wine in Paris? I've noted you have moved or are there on business.
As to the phones, I don't know if getting the specs on various cans would help out with your problem or not.
But, I find the Beyer 250's very relaxing to use. The Beyer 770's are a bit boomy. The Sennheiser cans I still have are softer and mellow.
I also use a pair of Amphony wireless cans when doing routine work in the studio. These cans are around 100 USD and have a volume control on the headset. They will project a good sound through walls and have about a 250 foot range if you want to sit outside and have some good French bread and wine. They sound mellow to me but are not as good as the Beyer cans.
