Hello,

I am using a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile, and I'm not getting any output on the headphones. I have the device connected to my macbook pro via firewire. This is just an issue that arose recently. I have used the headpone output and it has worked in the past, but today I've tried all different sounds through the box and directly off my computer and there's nothing. The headphone and master level knobs are up, and line outputs on the back work. I have even tried turning everything off and on again.

Are there any common issue I could be running into? Do you think the headphone jack is just dead?

Thanks in advance

Headphone jacks do malfunction. More commonly they slowly break, i.e. start to crackle and need fiddling which gets harder and harder to get to work. They usually don't just go from working to nothing, but it's possible.

Did you try a second set of headphones, or try the same headphones on another sound source like a CD player to make sure they aren't bad?

Ich bin digging your meaness mein freund...

No problem here.

AAAH the picture didn't transfer.

I'm guessing bad Saturday night?

Long weekend of live sound support!
Friday afternoon into the night with about 10 acts
Then Saturday morning till late afternoon with about 8 acts

All very cool performers and not the first outside shows of the year but right out in the sun with record highs!
just a prelude to this summer . I'm just not acclimated as yet being from New Hampshire ....We get normally 9 months of winter and 3 months of bad sledding. :laughings:

Mine was basically waiting 6 1/2 hours to play 8 songs. How much cake can you eat in 6 1/2 hours?

Of course the relevance to the broken headphone jack is questionable...

Well, it is relevant if you where sitting on your headphone jack for 6 1/2 hours while eating cake.:laughings: Happens to me all the time.:D I lose more headphone jacks that way!:spank:

Well, I always try to color code my cables so they don't get mixed up at gigs. My color is orange. I guess yours would be the brown ones. :(

Back to the headphone problem, might be a simple suggestion, but is the mix going to the headphones (selected) on the Mixer screen? This has caught me out in the past.

Cheers
Alan.
