headohone problems

i just bought an Audio Technica ADH-AD700 headphones....

and i immediatly inserted them into my MP3 player, the problem was that they only played out tha LEFT side, then i wasnt too shaken, but i plugged them into my M Audio 410 (my cpu soundcard) and same thing! only out the left side!!!

am I doing something wrong, or are these BAD HEADPHONES... take note there IS two black rings on the connecting piece (which i believe means stereo)

please help me... thanks

Do you have any other headphones/earphones lying around? Take those and plug them into your MP3 player and soundcard. Does it sound okay? If it does, plug your new headphones back into those sources. If it's still only coming out the left side, I would say you should head back to the store for an exchange.

Does your MP3 player having panning capabilities? I suppose you could be panned hard left on both the MP3 player and sound card, but that would be fluke. Like I said, test it with another pair.

well i already did use another pair of headphones... and they always worked fine on the soundcard.

Dang it! I can't believe I got a faulty pair of headphones

I was so excited today when I got them too!
