HD24 Emergency....!

Hi gang, I've got a studio full of people looking at me! My HD24 froze up while editing, it's stuck on "undo complete" and won't respond to anything including shutting down the drives from the front. I'm afraid to turn it off from the back and reboot - if I lose the data I'm cooked.

Ouch, this just another example of why you hear to save after everything. Im sorry friend I dont see any other way other than rebooting the system. Maybe someone can chime in, but I dont see this ending good.

Stealth, do you think a soft reboot will erase all the data?

Well not sure if it will create a backup file and save everything. I guess its worth a shot.

Hope this is not coming too late.

Remove the Cradle and HD. If you don't have another cradle, remove the HD from the cradle and put it aside. Install another IDE hard drive in the cradle, and you should be back up and running after formatting the HD.

Search Yahoo groups for the HD24 user group for help in rescuing the HD you removed.
