Does anyone know if the Alesis HD24 is compatable with windows XP for transfering file via ethernet cable. The Alesis manual does not say it works with XP.Thanks,Jim

No problems so far. Make sure you have the latest OS for the HD24. I think it is still 1.06?

So your saying the HD 24 will work with windows XP?? Im having a hell of a time.'cause Im a computer dummy you understand. My green light wont come on on the ethernet card and when I do the ping 192.168.1.100 that the alesis manual tells me to do it gets timmed out and has no data passed..they aint talking.I think there is something with my ethernet card setup. I went to some area I cant even remember and it said media disconnected or something like that. In a troubleshotting section it said to make sure it DID NOT say that..mine does so I think there are issues with the ethernet..Help,Jim

Well, 2 ethernet crossover cables hooked together by one of thoselittle connectors your buy at the computer store will not work.It seems to turn the 2 crossover cables into a standard ethernet cable. So that problem is solved,my only issue left is when I try to connect my computer with the hd24 I get a message 530 not logged on. I know I set a username and password but I cant get back to it.Help.Jim

I have been busy. I should have checked back sooner. Glad to see you solved the connection issue. If I recall correctly, go to the utility screen for setting the IP address, press the UP arrow to enter the user name and password screens.
