Have you seen this bass.....

I may have asked this before a long time ago...but I'm giving it another shot.

I'm on a new quest to find a Hamer Chapparral 5 bass. It is a US made Hamer bass, neck through, 5 string, reverse headstock with 5 tuners on a side, EMG active pickups. Color not important.

Have you seen one? Have you ever even heard of it? My bass player plays one and it is my favorite bass I have ever played in my life.

Def Leppard, thats funny...i didnt know that. Even with that, it's still the best bass I have ever played. If you find one, lemme know. I have scuored the entire internet looking to no avail!

ill let ya know...but lemme axe ya this....the one you are talking about is that strange Explorer kida shaped one right????....theres also a Hamer Slammer Chaparral bass that ive only seen in a 4 string version, but thats a kinda cheapo one so i dont think thats it.......

No, the Chaparral5 is not explorer shaped. It looks like a Jazz bass with a set neck, a very smooth heel, looks like a neck through, but I see a joint on it.. It is a US made Hamer, my bass player bought his new and to his recollection paid about $1500 in 1995. They only made this model for about 3 years. I will see if I can find a pic somewhere of his to let you see it.
