have CEP2 error on exe

when I click on the exe. file to install the theing I get an error message saying

"system is not configured for cool edit run setup again"


...I'm not sure what the configuration needs to be...

...stuck
 
were u using a trial version? the time limit may have runout. otherwise, i'd call adobe for support.,
 
Are you trying to run it across a network? It doesn't like that, I believe. Try a reinstall in any event, maybe.
 
I think I've found the problem...they system I was tryin to install it on is windows 98...

when I looked at the properties for CEP2 it said it was for win 95, and 2000...don't know if that's what's causing the foul up
 
...but since Microsoft activated the "corrupt 98SE" with the release of XP, you'll continue to have problems...

Damn, I'm starting to believe the story myself!

It came up in another thread: everyone complained that their 98SE machines started exhibiting problems right after XP was released. Rigorous scientific analysis was applied to these anecdotes. In other words, everyone tried to remember when it was they started having problems, and whether they had also loaded other programs at the same time or changed the hardware configuration, or made some other change. Most of the responses were "I don't remember" which our highly-qualified panel summed up as "Microsoft almost certainly and deliberately caused the problems."
 
Ah, bullshit. I've had bags of problems with 98SE ever since I started using it lol. So what that means is this, then: my numerous problems with 98SE started cropping up ages ago IN ANTICIPATION of Microsoft's release of XP lol.
