an abandoned house

doesnt have heat but it has power for you guys to hook up and practice? Who is footing that bill. Sorry i don't know anything about cold weather, we have it like once a year, and cold is like 40 degrees.

yeah - utilities are hooked up,we COULD turn the heat on, but it seems like it would be a waste to turn it on, only to practice for a feww hours three times a week.

-Hot water from the faucet at the gig - soak yer hands for a few minutes

- Hands under the hot air dryer in the shitter if they have one (if you don't have a hair dryer)

- Hands between yer butt cheeks for a few minutes.

sometimes, when I get nervous I like to put my hands in my armpits and then sniff them.

Have a beer. If you can, stay away from nicotine some time before playing. It's about blood circulation.
Hans,

Actually, Alcohol sends a temporary bit of extra blood to the outer epidermis which makes you FEEL a bit warm while also numbing a bit of the senses to the cold. The problem is that that blood is now closer to the cold and can then be cooled resulting in a colder you within a very short while. This is why bums die in the cold so easily. they think they are warm but it only expedites the chilling process.
Warm gloves and exercise up to the performance is best alonf with a hair dryer. Eat warm food too. Try swinging your arms like a swimmer or a windmill.

bicycleracer,
Probably you are right. But the beer also calm you down.

If you eat just before, you will not do the best, that's my experience. To much energy to the belly..it will also make you cold and sleepy. And if you have some singing to do....you will probably get some of the food up in your mouth again.
