Personally I find a miced 2x12 in combinatation with the simulanalog JCM 900 plug http://www.simulanalog.org/guitarsuite.htm gets me a solid new school metal sound.

Is this plug a freebie? I don't see anything about it being a trial version...

hey, all I had to do was read it... sorry.

I'm assuming this plug is meant to be used WHILE tracking... could it be applied to a track already recorded, or would it just sound like arse?

If you've got a pre-recorded clean tone track that you wanna dirty up, it's fine, otherwise it'll be ass. Which is why tracking through a splitter is the only way I'll go. BTW, this plug also works nicely on bass, depending on what your looking for, that is.

I'm trying Simuanalog in Adobe Audition but it's under unsupported is there a way around this?
Perhaps a DX wrapper that you know of?
