Guitar Driven Simple Tune.....

Here's a tune Snake and I have been working on for a while. I am tired of mixing it, and he seems pretty happy with it.
The Black Demo
It's about 5 chords, and just dirty as ever. Kind of Biker rock stuff. The solo is at the end, so you have to listen to the whole thing.....

Its good. THe main thing I would change is the drum pattern, it is monotonous to the point of distraction. The solo is very good, and there is no law that you cant put it at the end.

I will give this an 8. I would give a nine if the drum pattern changed. You get the point across with the music. Nice job.

Thanks, David. Much appreciated. This is one of the first real stabs at DFHS, for me. I am not a drummer, and figuring out what a drummer might play, is actually pretty baffling. I tried to mix it up some, but still don't have a grasp on things. Snake and his solo's are always wild. Makes up for my lacking at times.

I am not a drummer, and figuring out what a drummer might play, is actually pretty baffling. I tried to mix it up some, but still don't have a grasp on things.

Join the club I havent the slightest idea what to do. I just got an old SR16 drum machine ( to use mainly for metronome for advanced classical stuff). Yours, specifically, is the double snare in a row. The drum SOUND is actually pretty decent. They need to invent a better way of getting drum patterns for the drum-impaired like me, maybe they have em already.

If the drums were double tempo it'd do Motorhead proud. Real Lemmy vocals. He's the only rocker known to have been prescribed speed FOR his heart's sake - seems it'll stop without the goey.
The tag on the solo is great. I reckon you should slot in a bar of it in a couple of other places as well..da da da deda ...to create some foreshadowing - oops literary reference sorry!
I quite like the drums - being a "haven't a clue" type of drum programmer (Roland 505).

Haha, Dogman got me there. Yeah I usually just wank it as crazy as I can. This time I actually wrote the solo so I could try some harmony work with the rhythm guitar.

rayc, good thoughts on the foreshadowing... I actually thought about working some of the main melodies from solo in earlier, maybe I'll still try to work that in there.

Yeah I tried some hardcore Dogman style vocals here and there, but honestly after like two takes my throat was gone So hopefully they do the job...

Dude, I think they add some cool depth to the tune. The original is about twice as long, and very dry. This is actually fun, for a simple tune. I actually did another remix, after learning some tricks. Not a drastic change, but a bit cleaner. I'll get it to ya...
