Hi All,

I use a Mackie 1202VLZ Pro to record and was wondering if it is practical to use the outs of an effects pedal into the line in, and the the alt/aux sends to the amplifier to supply feedback to the guitarist?

Also, on my mackie, I know that turning the Aux knobs regulates the amount of signal on that channel that goes out the aux send...is there a way to send the signal to the aux 1 rather than aux 2?

thanks.

The impedance from a guitar pup is very different than what the mixer inputs would like to see. Unless you have active pups, you want to use a DI box to put between the guitar pups and/or effects and the mixer.

You can route a signal to either Aux 1 or Aux2 on that mixer, but they've designed Aux 1 to be dual-purpose - used for an Aux OR for monitoring.

Hmmm...I occasionally run guitar DI through my Art MP and usually DI my bass that way.

The bass in particular sounds fine to me, but are there some technical problems I should be aware of. I certainly don't have active pickups

Or a very developed idea of what sounds good for the bass. :)

Chris,

The ART has an instrument input, which is compatible with any ordinary guitar pickups. In other words, it serves as a DI box as well as a pre-amp, and does a pretty good job in it.
