Hi,
Im having a problem when recording guitar. I use my Strat into my Marshall Vintage Modern which is linked to a Palmer Speaker Simulator pdi 03, which goes directly into my Tascam DP24 recorder, I also use a few overdrive pedals.
The problem im having is that when im recording (Clean or dirty, but worse on overdrive) is that any note or chord i play a short crackle always follows it. For example if i strum a G barr chord, a short crackling noise always follows just as the chords been played. Its just very distracting.
I thought it maybe bad tubes, but tubes are fine.
Cables seem to be fine.
I thought it maybe my headphones, but it still remains when listening though my monitors.
Any help, questions or answers would be great
Thanks

Is it recorder too hot?
Is the signal clipping?
Compressor?

Do you have a speaker cabinet? Try that instead of the simulator, and see if you get the noise. You need to isolate the cause of the noise, it could be anything in the sound chain (pedals, cables, tubes ...)

Thanks for reply.
Iv tried it also with my Levinson Blade which has noiseless pick ups and i still get this buzz.

Sorry for the stupid question, but what do you mean by buffer size?
