marshall avt50 ran into a marshall 1960A... i plan on getting a JCM 2000 soon

I'm flying two different amps...

#1: Peavey Classic 30 with 1x12 extension cab. I switched to JJ Tesla tubes and put made-in-England Greenbacks in both the amp and cab. All the recent Greenbacks have been made in China. I love the tone of this amp, but unfortunately have not been able to get a good mic'ed sound from it. Guess it just doesn't like mics

#2: Tech21 Trademark 60. Damn freaking loud. Rather than model amps, Tech21 decided to focus on simulating tubes, and they ended up blowing away every other modelling amp or device I've ever heard. While an audiophile could tell the difference, I can get convincing tones from Fender to Marshall to Vox. This is my main workhorse now thanks to the very good sounding direct out.

Marshall TSL601 - All tube 3 Channel 1x12 Combo (solid gigging for 2 years! just retired) pushing one of the 4x12's below.
VHT - Pittbull 100 CL - Just bought! (Tone , tone , tone!) pushing a
Yamaha 4x12 Cab loaded w/ GT-75 Celestions (made during Soldano/Yamaha era) sometimes uses my Randall 4x12 Cab loaded w/ Jaguar speakers.
Peavey Classic 50 2x12 - Sleeper (great for recording) . The Marshall and Peavey can be heard in action at www.meetgoodwin.com

Peavey Bandit ii - sounds great to me and has a lot of power (maybe too much). I have played several gigs with it (in a gym actually) and just can't turn it up past 2 for the most part. Yesterday I used it with an RP50 and just couldn't believe it sounded so good.
I would like to get a 5150 combo, a stack would be way out of my price range. How do the combo's sound, just like the stack or not as good?

bad pic really. and it looks SO much better now that i have the mesa cab with the chrome side armor to match it.

they also sound so much better than the marshall cabs i had did. i traded my dad two marshall cabs like the one pictured for the money to get the mesa cab

currently the amp is in CA and i am in NC. i need to get some flight cases and get the amp shipped here.

That reminds of a wild purple light cover I ordered from Western Auto, back in '64-'66 era.

Here's my list

I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Fender 1965 Twin ReIssue
Marshall Silver Jubilee 2558 (all original and sounds wonderful)

Sovtek Mig 100 (brand new JJs :)) w/ Ampeg V4 cab 4x12

Marshall VS30R 1x12

and for bass: Yorkville bassmaster xm100

I hear ya on those JJ's....how do you like the mig 100 loaded with new JJ's and what kind of amp would you compare it to? I heard a mig 100 before and they sound wicked awesome with lots of balls. I thought of it as marshall with bigger balls... but I never heard one with NEW tubes in it. I'm getting a whole set of new JJ's for my 5150 soon when I get it modified and rebiased. I wan't the premium graded high gain 12ax7's with the high filament rising rate. The mod I want is from voodooamps.com. I want my 5150 biased a bit warmer; 5150's are biased to a pretty low mA stock and want to rebias mine to get it out of the "crossover" distortion rate which causes that "buzzy" sound. After all this is done including the new JJ's, it should sound pretty intense :D

mesa boogie dc-3
- i love this little thing, loudest 30 watts i've ever heard
marshall as50
- acoustic amp
fender princeton chorus
- my first amp. i just keep it around for kicks

i want to get myself a 2x12 cab and then some new heads

66' Fender Twin Reverb
Vox Ac-30 Handwired reissue
Orange Ad-140tc on top of a Bogner 4x12 w/ g12h30's or an Orange 4x12 w/ vintage 30's.

Marshall 30th Anniversary Head. It came with the 5881 tubes and I had it converted to EL34's.

I run it through a 1960 lead series stack with Vintage Celestion 30's. Sounds GREAT!

Sorry it took so long to respond,

I LOVE my new Mig loaded with the JJs, the sound is much richer, warmer, and just a lot more pleasing on the ear than with the stock tubes (that blew out), though i still have stock preamp tubes. I'm not quite sure what amp you could compare it to soundwise, the clean is very rich and warm - kind of like a bassman though with it's own 'character', and the distortion is one of it's own, but probably somewhat like the jcm 800.
