Thanks for the update!

Any idea what kind of time differential we're talking about? I suspect if it's just say 1,2,3 weeks difference then maybe it makes no sense to ship separately. OTOH, if we're talking 3 months then maybe.

IMO, you should feel free to make an executive decision on whether you want the hassle of dealing with two shipments.

It might be a good idea to hold on to those extra preamps until everyone has at least function tested theirs. If the Chinese haven't done much testing on these, there will surely be bad circuit boards that will manifest themselves when we receive them.

Stoked about these.
 
+1 for shipping mics first
(of course, that could be because i only ordered mics..... :D)
 
Chance, that seems like a lot of extra work on your end since in a lot of cases you'll be sending to the same people twice.

I would send out the mics to the people who didn't order a pre. And allow local pickup.

Unless of course you don't have enough storage space for all those mics.

Yeah, but not transporting it from the dock to them. On the other hand, you were worried about being able to fit it into a truck, IIRC. Maybe that's your answer. It also might help some of the folks in Australia who were worried about $1000 caps on imports without duties. Dunno.
 
I just made some room in my PM box It's been full for a while. Many of the questions asked should be posted because many on board can help with answers. I have receintly had 2 cases of vandelism at my house and am busy securing the hatches. Everything is still on track with the GB

I guess that's possible but it would depend on whether the double shipping costs outweigh the duties on a single shipment:eek:........like you said "Dunno" ;)

come on man....you just have to not give a shit about the rep thing....that was all fun back in the day when it was new....but now I dont even pay it any attention anymore....it dont mean anything to most of us anymore so dont let it bug ya....

Hey guys
Sorry I haven't been posting as much as I like to but I am in the middle of a big project. Since I announced that there will be some extra Pre amps, my PM box has been flooded. When they get in I will announce what/how many I have. I can't fill those orders now, so please, no more PM's about the extra pre amps.
Everything is still going on schedule so be paitient.

yay! It's like an extended night before Christmas. :D -- at this point in the last GB, my blood pressure was about 20 points higher, since you were having a hard time making contact with the factory folks, IIRC.
 
I got an E-mail last night. First they tell me that the sample color I sent them "is no problem", and NOW they say they can't duplicate it. The front panels are all made and ready for treatment. I setteled on a blue/black anodise brushed aluminum with white graphics. They gave me a few choices, but in studio, contrast is an important necessity (BG color/graphics). I'll try to post the color samples they sent me later. I'm in the middle of a session with Bill Bonham right now, so it will be later this evening. It's on a PDF and not sure I can post a PDF here.
