Group Buy Interest?

So this new color dries fast right? I'll wait for the UPS guy on the front porch this weekend! :D
 
The ones Alan posted are kind of a medium electric blue with white graphics. Not blue-black.
 
Well.....that's sort of the color I was wanting anyway. I'm more concerned about the manufacturer 'changing his story' about the internals. Time will tell. Thanks for the update, Chance.

I thought I was going to get a white ACM-4 in the last GB (to match my, um, macbook), but found out halfway through that only the black ones would be available (and I got a black one) -- I forgot about that until just now, and realize I couldn't care less :) -- past experience shows me that what counts comes through

I'm glad that makes you satisfied AC!! :D I wish I was as easy going as you. i certainly hope that those I've brought into this GB will be as easy going as you. I've had just a few too many surprises this go-around.

First, no 300's - and substituting a 200 which I didn't want; Second, going from being perfectly satisfied with what I thought I was getting as far as the pres were concerned to not knowing who when or how they were designed and whether or not what we're getting is what Chance & co. previewed, much less knowing what will actually be delivered; and Thirdly, now, a last minute change in the color of the pre's.

Where I play ball, it's 3 strikes and you're out. But I'm willing to change my rules and let it go cause I really don't care about the pre color as long as it looks classy, but I sure hope the chinese don't have many more surprises, because my patience is wearing......

In my business I deliver what was ordered BEFORE money changes. If there are changes to be made after the fact, they are in the clients best interests. And I expect the same. I know, how presumptuous of me. Sorry, I grew up old skool.

Certainly GB's are forged out of a different mentality, but some basic business principals should still be in place otherwise the Chinese are playing fast and loose with over a quarter million dollars of our money.

I now have to go and tell 2 buddies (whose hard earned cash I included in my order) that: A) the preamps are a new color, and B) that I have no idea what will actually show up as far as the preamps themselves, and don't know if we're getting what we ordered or not. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I have seen no confirmation from Chance or anyone else as to EXACTLY what we are getting (pre wise). Except for AH. He seems to know EXACTLY what we're getting....:rolleyes::rolleyes: And it doesn't look like he and Chance are on the same page, so....???

I'm sorry, but I can't really see my buddies as having a lot of confidence in either me or the GB right now. They trusted me. I trusted the GB. That bums me out, cause I try to be a trustworthy person and due to situations out of my control, I come off looking like someone less than trustworthy.

I guess the new moto of GB's should be...."Order what you want, and get whatever the he!! we decide you should get." :(:(

I sincerely hope this GB turns out for the best for all those concerned! Right now my confidence in getting what I ordered is shot, and I am not amused.

(fingers firmly crossed.........and hoping for the best - with no more surprises)

It's a price = (delivered value + transaction cost + seller's profit) thing. We're enjoying practically $0 transaction cost and seller's profit built into the price (but I suppose the Chinese have some profit built in), and instead are paying for those components with some uncertainty and waiting.

All the trouble that goes into tightly controlled and managed transactions very quickly explains the extra cost that goes with them, and I'm happy not to pay that in this case, since Chance has proven himself to me before. I'm also much happier now to pay a higher price for something I want with certainty and right away, knowing now even better than I did why it costs so much more.

But I do know how much consternation there was prior to getting the delivery on the last GB (my first one), and my participation in these has been solely on my own account, and not on behalf of others. In the last one, I endured a lot of quiet panic, to be sure, and I bet it would have been a lot worse had I brought others in.

But that all evaporated when those boxes arrived :D
 
Now that we know the consumer price for a similiar product or two from
the same origins ( ) ... so we are doing good so far!

I sent you the color sample to post.
One thing about the shipping on the last GB. I didn't hear much on the packaging, so I assume all was OK. It won't take as long to get them out this time either. Oh yeah, did anyone find a cordless phone in their pkg? I never did find it.. Sorry for all the uneasiness. You can't begin to imagine how I feel. I do feel confident that the quality will be there and everyone will be pleased. I have delt with this company before and had only one problem (a DOA capsule) and I had a replacment at my door step in 48 hours. They are the best that China has (if that is any consolation)

That's all well and fine, but if you order a white goat and a black goat shows up, you might be a little miffed, but you'll probably be OK with it after awhile - unless you specifically needed a white goat for breeding purposes. If you order a white goat and a black chicken shows up.....:mad::mad: That's unacceptable, and basically what we have happening with the 300/200 scenario.

Like I said earlier, I have lost my confidence that the Chinese will deliver what has been ordered. If they cannot deliver for whatever reason, they seem to have no trouble with "substitutions". What's to keep them from doing the same with the pre's? No good transformers available today, no problem, XYZ will do fine. For all intents and purposes, that's EXACTLY what AH has intimated happened with the pre's.

The answer to the above question of course is "nothing". Nothing will stop them from doing as they see fit, and for whatever is in their best interest. We can only hope that the size of this GB, leaves OUR HAPPINESS in their best interest as they look at keeping TnC as a happy customer.

At this point, I will say it again, I have no certainty that what Chance designed is what we ordered, what was previewed in January, or if any of the above is what is going into the metal frame that may or may not look like it's supposed to. If anyone has any updates for me, please chime in - I'd be one happy camper if you shared it. Surely someone must know what's going on. Otherwise I'm forced to remain....

If you need a white goat, you order one from a dealer who sends you what you order, and with whom you have recourse if you get a black one. Of course, that will cost more.

There was ample discussion on this and other boards that a group buy like this is a high risk, high gain transaction. We all know there are glitches in the system, and knew not to risk money we couldn't afford.

I suggest you chill out like the rest of us and await your items. There's nothing to be gained by whining about potential pitfalls. I have confidence (from prior group buys) that Chance will do the best he can to get us what we ordered, but there may be some things out of his control.

Sorry if this is coming off as whining. Wasn't meant that way. I find it so interesting that the pointed questions go unanswered......
