Yes. if any mic is DOA, you will send it to me and a replacement will be sent to you from the manufacturer. The last buy there were a few, but were easy fixes. I had one bad capsule, but had a replacment within the week.

I don't really know what you mean. I don't know anyone that mics an electric guitar without a guitar amp.
 
I just wanted to check in before I leave. I didn't have time to post those shock mount pics. I'm leaving tomorrow for Chicago and will return in 8 days

looks like i'm going to be in for at LEAST one of each (except the USB one) plus more than one of a bunch of them. just won a neve 1272 on ebay and i want to experiment. :D

haha well one of each are goin to the studio where i work, plus i'm definitely in for a pair of the 310s, a 6802 and the r**er lookalike, maybe the acm-4 too. also had some interest in the 583, but i'm not sure if i can afford THAT many mics, especially after splurging on the neve channel.
 
i'm def interested in the 310's-- apparently that's chance's proprietary design based on stuff he's read on a bunch of boards written by mic experts. :D
 
yeah that is indeed the word on the street. i'm pretty excited to try them on piano. i was talking to the guy at work who handles buying new gear and he was hella excited to get in on my order. he stopped though and was like, "we're not like... funding al qaeda if we buy these, are we?" i laughed and assured him that bin laden will not be seeing any of this money.
 
Does anyone know how close a pair of the acm-240's would be matched?

I want to get them to try out as overheads and also stereo live recording. I don't care if they are perfectly matched as long as they are within a reasonable range from each other.
 
is there a limit to how large an order i can make? i'm lookin at 30-50 mics.... i can assure you that i am not reselling these. i work in music for advertising and everyone at the music house wants to get in on my order as well as stocking the studio here with one of each.

I'm still out in the midwest and Cant see how the orders are going until I get back. but Hey, Don't be discouraged in reselling. I don't care. I keep what I can use, and they sell in a heartbeat on E-bay. There have been a few others that want to off them on the "Bay". Go for it. I will check back from time to time out here in the midwest. Once the cutoff date rolls around, using your E-dresses, Pay pal will be sending every one a "request for funds". Once I recieve full payment for the total order, I will then transfer funds to the bank of China, and then we wait. On the last Group buy, it took 28 days from China to the port of LA. I will try to update as soon as I can.
 
hey chance, on R.E.P. in harvey's forum you mentioned a cheap chinese ribbon that you liked on some electric guitar amp better than the 121. Was it one of these you're selling, and if so, which one?

chance, i know you don't mind reselling, but it would be lame to order 50 mics and just turn profit on them. just letting you know i don't have that in mind.

will you be putting a time limit on how long people have to pay before their orders get cancelled? it would seem to make sense so that the process doesn't draw out too long.
