Chance,
Will there be a way to confirm that you received our order emails? Or will the Paypal invoices be the one and only confirmation?

hey chance, is there a way we can get some sort of confirmation that you got our orders? i feel nervous about shit getting lost in cyberspace, and i've got too many people in on my order to miss out on this.

jim, i have a feeling that there won't be too many orders with around 50 mics so yours will stick out or will be noticed if it isn't there :D

hey guys
Once again, I don't care if anyone wants to re sell and make a profit, you can get as many as you wish. When I return to LA, and after the cutoff date, I will use all the E-mails that had "MICROPHONES" in the subject header, and send paypal request for money from Paypal. Once all the requests for money have been paid, the funds will be transfered to the bank of China, and then we wait for delivery. I can't remember now but I think the cutoff date is May 6th.
Gotta go, but I'll try to check in tomorrow

I came across this threat just today for the first time. I don't know if I want to read through all 33 pages to find out what the group buy is. I see some ribbons on page 1 but after 33 pages of discussion and development, I fear this deal may have changed a little.

Can anyone brief me on what the final deal is. I may get in. I need some ribbons.

Thanks,
Johny-Come-Lately

OK gang, let the fun begin
For those that don't know the drill, heres how it works. you send me an E-mail. In the subject header put "MICROPHONES" in all caps. Then in the message area, state what you want. I will use those E-dresses for the Pay pal money requests (ONLY ONE E-DRESS PLEASE). cut off date is May 6. Its important to put "MICROPHONES" in the subject header so it will be easier to file to a seperate folder plus I can, at a glance, weed out all the Viagra, work at home, and all the other trash you are all familiar with. Pay pal has a small fee, but I will cover it for now and add when I pack and ship to you. I'm getting TONS of E-mail questions and can't possibily answer them all, so post here, theres a good chance some one will have the answer

yeah what product and a approximation on prices.

Thanks for the links. This sounds like an awesome idea... And thanks also to chance for the rundown on the 'why microphones are still so damn expensive but sound like a** now) - I miss my old 57's for sure.

IF I can get some money together - Winter in the upper midwest hasn't been kind for the working musician - I'll send in an order. What a project!

Thanks for bringing me up to speed, guys. I have read from page 22 up to here. I am putting my little list together now for my order.

Thanks again!

I don't think any of the mics are bought as matched pairs, right? I want to buy a replacement pair of OH mics to take the place of my studio projects c4's. I think that a pair of bigger diaphragm mics might give me a warmer and more detailed sound that I've been looking for. Any ideas on which might work best as a pair? Thanks guys

i'm interested in trying out a ribbon, but don't know which one to go with between the ACM-2 or ACM-1. probably would be used mostly for vocals, and occasionally for guitar amp. what might make a better first ribbon mic? could a ribbon possibly be used as a drum room mic?

i think the ACM-3 is more geared for guitar right? i'm looking for one that's more suited for vocal use above anything, just to have another tool in the box. will be getting a ACM-582 also. :D

is the 6801t (the tube mic if i got the # wrong) different then the apex tube mic?

yes

Actually, I don't know but only suspect it due to very different physical appearances. We know nothing either sonically or frequencypattern-wise about any of these mics, so we're basically just shooting fish in a barrel and hoping something good floats to the top. For the price there's very little risk, as these mics could easily be resold for what we're paying.

Doubtful. The body looks a lot like another company's tube mics who will remain nameless, but I would not be surprised if the tube circuit were different, and it might even have a different capsule. All I know is that if it sounds anything like the other company's tube mics, I have a prety good feeling I'll be recapping it, reworking the grille, and replacing the capsule, as the tube mic I'm thinking of seems pretty harsh and phasey to my ears.
