Groove Tubes Convertable Mic

I believe Groove Tubes introduced a new mic called the "GT Convertable". These are found only at Guitar Whore. They state they can be used as both an instrument mic, or..., screw on an end ball and "presto"... now it's a vocal mic.

Has any picked one up and given it a test drive yet? They are tagged at 100 fun coupons.

i'd be interested in checking it out...and not to derail the thread but a major thumbs down to groove tubes for doing the exclusive guitar center thing...i know others will have a different opinion...i'd just like to say it's uncool.

support stores that do not do business like this.

Looks interesting, as a GT55 owner (and lover) I'm curious, at the least.

anyways!!! last i heard, the entire mic line that GT has out currently is over...that's why we've all been able to get such great prices on them...(i managed to talk a guy into 125 for a GT 55)

they're supposedly making a new line and ive heard different things from different places...one being that it's going to be the same shit...new casings...original higher prices...we'll see

Yeah, it's called Sterling Audio. Here's your gt55 with its new name. It's cheaper than the GT55 used to be new.

Probably just a residual from when M-Audio was the distributor for GT mics. I'd be curious to know whether the new mics are significantly different than the 2 previous lines distributed by Alesis and M-Audio, or whether it's the same electronics and capsules in a new skin.
