I cant believe 8 people actually voted for disturbed, that is indeed disturbing. Talk about poser rock to the extreme. IMHO what makes grohl good is the fact that he is so multi-talented and extremely musical.

I agree, Grohl is multi-talented, which makes him more of a powerhouse. He's a great singer, a pretty good guitarist and an excellent songwiter. As a drummer, he's got good chops. (For the Peart comment, I used to think he was the best drummer in the world until about 10 years ago.)

If you're wanting to hear a great drummer (who IMHO is the best) go out and get a Dave Weckyl instructional tape. Don't argue until you do, and if you don't know who he is - put down the sticks and back slowly away from the drum kit!!!... You might hurt yourself.

that's the name wich should always be mentioned in the "who's the best drummer" topics

People keep bringing up other drummers... so i will too.
Dave Grohl plays simple stuff, but with extreme energy and great tempo and speed. The drumming on Probot is awesome. Same with In Utero. And just because you don't play with a double pedal, doesn't make you a bad drummer. Grohl may not be a drummer god, but hes way up there.

Disturbed... just... -_-.

danny carey

Danny Carey has (in my opinion) some of the best tom work. Just listen to Lateralus. Plus, his kit has both eletric and accoustic drums. Maybe hes not as talented as Peart or Portnoy, but he isdefinately creative, and his knowledge of Tabla makes him (in my opnion) the best drummer in 20 years.

I been after that QOTSA album for THREE MONTHS and havent gotten it yet.
I cant believe this is a question either. Grohl is a natural born rock music master. He is as good a singer and guitar player and bass player and writer as he is drummer. Amzing guy, been a fan since Nevermind. That dude in Disturbed isnt half the genius.

if you STILL havent gotten the songs for the deaf album your missing out BIG TIME!!!!!!!! if you think daves playing on the nirvana records was great, you wont believe the shit he does on this record...

I have never listened to Disturbed, Just their name says "New Metal Wannabie's" frankly if thats wrong i don't care, they sound like a bunch of pretenders. If Dave Grohl auditioned for my band i'd snap him up. Any man that's jammed with Cobain has got to have picked a thing or two up, and the Foo Fighters arn't bad either. I think People underestimate Dave's importance to Nirvana, you only have to listen to Chad Channings drumming on the first album to notice a huge difference. Dave Rocks!!

chad isnt such a bad drummer at all. he played on the demo tapes which was to become the nevermind album and dave pretty much copyed his parts.

this is true, but dave still deserves the credit for the amazing drums on in utero because those drums really really kick ass. Plus chad wasn't as steady as dave is, however he got the job done...
