good guy
Please believe me, I've searched the site and the operating manual, but I can't find the solution to the noobish problem.

Okay, I record a clip from 0 on the ruler. When I play it back, the clip appears 1 tick mark after 2 with a horizontal blue line - but the audio still plays from the beginning (with no wave form) outside of the clip and gets cut off early before the actual audio finishes. It's just not matching up.

Please forgive the ignorance, but I really need help with this!
Thank you.

I believe my latency is fine, card set up w/ ASIO drivers, computer set for background, etc.

Is there a place to test latency.

It just seems odd that even play back does not align with the wave data.

Just go to Devices and then VST audiobay...see what latency you are receiving.

hmm, I'm on Cubase SE, there is no audiobay under devices. When recording in Cakewalk, the audio actually matches up with the wave data and corresponds to it during playback. I just really want to use Cubase instead, but it's tough to edit when the audio doesn't match up, and I have to remember to let it record for a while after I'm done playing. I don't know what to do..

You might want to check your left and right markers on the transport panel. Also check the clip to see if you have inadvertently marked a beginning and end. Good luck...
