elliot, keep in mind that the #1 factor in getting a good recording
is the source, not the recording medium! (within reason of course)
In other words, if you don't have the inclination to take lessons
for vocals, acoustic guitar, or electric guitar, at least get some
self study books and try to get some coaching from someone you
know. Joining a choir is a good way to get your feet wet for singing. Later it's best to sing in a small vocal group ala quartet,
or solo when you're ready in front of other singers to get constructive feedback. Do it enough and you won't need any
pitch correction devices either putting you miles ahead of other
singers including most Top 40 ones!
