Wanted to share a good experience that I just had.

I needed a fretless for a few tracks I am working on and I looked to Rondo Music and their Essex Fender copies. I did my research and exchanged emails with a few people who had bought them and it seemed all ok to me.

I placed the order for the pbass and a hard case for a total of $160.

UPS delivered and the box was punctured and the case punctured too.

I dropped a note to Rondo and they offered to ship a brand new case to me that day (without even seeing the damage.) I wrote back and told them that it seemed silly to waste a case and mine was workable, but devalued. They offered a partial refund on the case and asked me to double check the bass to make sure it was OK.

Man, that is some great customer service.

Oh yea, by the way. The bass is beautiful. I have worked on a few of the neighborhood kids 'made in china' electrics, and this is such a step up from that. I was expecting a bass that would limp along and get the job done for me and I would eventually sell after I was done. This is much nicer than that. In fact the finish is nicer than my made in USA fender jazz plus.

Hats off to Rondo. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive fretless.

I have a bass from Rondo, too. I bought it about a year ago, simply for adding some umph to my guitar recordings. I'm knew I wasn't good enough to spend a lot of money on a bass, but I still wanted a quality instrument for my money. Kurt at Rondo Music was very kind to answer my questions about the company's products and the guitar was very well packed for shipping. I had a super overall experience there and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

Just put a badass II on my essex and it went from good to great. What a nice sounding bass.

Looking to put Bartolini's in next week.
