I see deaf people
Prodipe TT1

read about it in sound on sound where it compared favourably with the testers telefunken m80 and sennheiser md421, both near 10 times the price

I only have an 835e as another dynamic to compare it to but it sounds as good if not better on vocals, and guitar, so far to me..and has an on/off switch which the sennheiser doesnt

got it for $27.99 shipped just to try out...seems insanely good value

Got a link?

sure

Dynamic Microphone TT1 Ludovic Lanen

I got mine on fleabay

Prodipe TT1 Ludovic Lanen Model Dynamic Microphone - eBay (item 110644249115 end time Mar-04-11 16:01:10 PST)

SoS also compared it to a Shure PE65L....they said the TT1 was a few db higher in level and was slightly fuller sounding than the Shure but was very similar to the M80 and 421 with the main difference being in the lower mid range..

Like I say Ive very little to compare it with but at this price Id quite happily buy a few if I needed them...build quality seems pretty good as well, solid feeling with that kinda black rubber coating..Im going to do some recording with it this afternoon...so you can hear the results..

man I dont spend as little as $30 on beer let alone a half decent mic lol

Id be interested on your take on it

Thanks KC ... yeah I guess at $30. I could get one to check out.

Don't be too surprised.
I bought 10 dynamic microphone (purely on spec.) during the boxing week sales.
Six of them at $10 each and four of them at $20 each.
I tried them out briefly.
Sure, in a studio setting you could probably tell the difference but as live, hand held mics?
No a thing wrong with them.
Different brands from what you are showing but the same story.

I have a few karaoke mics that cost more but I wouldnt let them near my DAW, theyre solely for drunk mates to spit out Neil Diamond at parties...:)

you could record with these..for sure

Yeah:
Now that I've upgraded my cabinet, Brenda says I'm no longer allowed to lend mics to her band.
These would do nicely for that though.

I don't blame you; I also have a cheap mic that I brought from Wal-Mart that I use regularly for karaoke; LMAO Although, I think that I am ready for an update for a higher price ($100-130). But, I will check your link out... Thanks!

Uhm, this might be what I want. My hubby and I are planning to shop around late this week to get some of the stuff for my little recording room. I appreciate your suggestions. Thank-you!:-)

Looks interesting, has anyone any experience with their ribbon mics?

Just make sure that they are going to be what you want/need.

No but in that price range any of the ribbons are about the same

The review

Hi all,

Ok, now you've got me intrigued. Prodpipe has a jpg of the review at their site.

Sound On Sound Review - Microphone TT1

Buy it now on ebay for $28. Or bid on it starting at $20.

Peers over bush. "Very Interesting."

We need a user review in the fifty dollar mic thread.

Thanks,

Hairy Larry

HairyLarry,
Yeah... I seen this post yesterday; I was planning to get it, but it seems that the SM58 was on my mind. LOL Uhm, I'm purchasing a dynamic and condenser (MXL V67G Lrg Capsule). Thanks sweetie, for the recommendation.

Yes I was guessing there isn't much difference in this range it was more of a personal experience I was asking about. But by the looks of it these haven't been available on this side of the pond until fairly recently. Might be time to add to the cabinet. :)

just thought Id give this a bump

retracked a guitar part and some vocals using this mic...brilliant for what it is imo

Im buying the pro version which is $59...sounds better than my sennheiser imho so the pro should be a step up

am I weird for not liking condensers to sing into?

I bought one of those Behringer sets of three dynamics for a similar use: drunk mates to sing Khe Sanh into. In Oz they are about $75 the set.

BEHRINGER: XM1800S

They are surprisingly good mikes. If I have to set up a MC mike, I usually use one of them. Besides, MCs love having a switch to flick. Many is the time I've watching them searching a 58, trying to figure out where the switch is.

Nah...condensers--especially cheap ones--are over rated for/by home recorders in my opinion. Most of the vox I've tracked (and all of the best ones) were done with nice dynamics. (and nice dynamics are about the same $$ as some cheaper condensers)
