Good All round Dynamic mic?

I'm pretty new to this home recording mallarky and am looking to get my first mic. I will be recording primarily vocals and acoustic guitar.
I was looking at getting the AT 2020 Cardroid Mic, i've heard it's a pretty solid all rounder.
Has anyone got any experience with this mic? or have any recommendations for a mic in the £50 - £150 bracket?

Thanks for your help.

Definitely go for an Audio Technica dynamic. I recently got an ATM650 - paid just a little more than I would have for an SM57 - and was totally stoked. I've been using SM57's for years and this mic was far superior in every way.

AT also have dynamics for alot cheaper which I hear are totally decent.

Oh you meant condensor.

Ive used the AT2020 quite a bit and love it for the price.
I dont think you will get a better mic anywhere near that price range imo.
Great for vocals and acoustic guitars.

Im a bit biased towards AT as they always give me more than I pay for.

Alpha Dog- is the area you do your recording in treated?

I think I may have to do some level of acoustic treatment if I plan to get good results for vocals.

There are semi treatments you can do rather than treat a whole room. on the super cheap you can take a milk crate and line it with a couple old blakets and put your mic inside it. A bit more expenive would be to built 2 baffles using a 2x4 frame and some insulation and stand them like an open book with the mic in the middle. More expensive is the Real Trap Portable Vocal Booth followed by actual treatment on your walls.

Good luck!

I record vocals in a corner of my room that has been treated to make it as dead as possible. This pretty much takes room acoustics out of the equation, and I can add any ambience artificially. This is alot easier than trying to make room sound the way you want it to.
