Looking for recommendations for a good 2 channel eq to run mixes through. Looking for clean and warm sound. Not too....pricey. :Who's used what!:p

I'd argue that the EQ should be handled within the mix... But I've also strapped units across the 2-buss here and there. API's 5500 would be near the top of a pretty short list if you're looking for a "warm" sounding unit. Specks are pretty good and you can get them with a transformer option for about half the cost of the API (Mercenary has a pair of matched Speck ASC-T's, racked, for only $1250).

Still not as "flavorful" as the API, but not a bad unit at all.

I have had good luck with using the EQ on the Toft audio ATC-2 for 2 buss style stuff. I have also had good luck with the EQ's on my D&R console. This is a tricky topic because two buss applications really drive comps and EQ's pretty differently. A good 2 buss processor typically costs a lot more and really adds a divide in the budget range. What do you mean by not too pricey? Are we talking $200 a channel? $1k? $4k?

I want something to add general eq. to a stereo mix. Maybe not a "final" mix, yes that would/can be a mastering item I would think. At least I am used to tracks being eq'd during mastering. Massive..You don't eq. when you master? However, I want to be able to present cd's to people with a bit of a flavor if desired. I have been experimenting with limiting my eq. on each track and sending an eq. just on stereo out to cd burner.
Xstatic, I'm thinking in the under 1000 range. The API 's look interesing!!!Not too bad in price.

Art used to make a Dual Tube EQ that was parametric. It was very musical and one of their best boxes right up there with the Pro VLA. They show up on eBay from time to time.

Sure I do. But I (A) tend to not master my own mixes and (B) if I did, and it needed EQ, I'd go back to the mix.

But again, a dB of top end or a dB less low end? Maybe I'll use an EQ on the buss.

API Eq's are great, but a pair for under $1k would be a steal of a deal;) The Toft I mentioned will get you at your budget and add some good EQ, as well as 2 channels of usable preamps and compression.
