I just found out (by trial and ERROR) on the evil red boxes CF card:

I had not intended to use a certain wav any longer, but wanted to keep it for cutting out one certain part, so I renamed it on the card, "track012_keepforsolo" (on the CF card). I then deleted unused on the card, which DELETED THE DAMN TRACK I RENAMED!!!

Oh well, the whole track blew except for that one part...

It's too late to do it again tonight now, argghhh, this is frustrating...............................................................................

I feel bad for you, but I'm not surprised that the MR8 will do that on 'delete unused'. What I do is move my tracks from the MR8 to my PC where I use Ntrack to mix them. I almost never use any effects with my mixes.
