I owned a C-1 Elite too (a better question is what I HAVENT owned). I still prefer all my SGs. The Schecter was a cool guitar, and a good value. But its just another asian import and they're all pretty much the same to me these days. The US built guitars have something no asian guitar ever has....character.

I couldn't understand why you would pay full price for the faded when you can get a used standard in good condition for cheaper.
Fret wear?

even if a guitar has barely been played and isnt that old, the resale value goes down a lot after the initial purchase. so you could find a standard with very little fret wear for the price of a new studio. also the fretwork on the faded isn't great to begin with.

If you see a Standard anywhere for $600 you let me know. I'll buy every one up in an instant at that price. I have rarely seen one under $850.

Where I come from, standards are $1100, faded are $900, I got my standard used for $700.

Canada, but I should mention, the black sg standard is about 100-150 dollars less than the red or sunburst ones.

Ok I just converted the prices, 1100 dollars Canadian works out to 930 dollars US. 900 CAD is 760 US.

i was just in vancouver. guitar prices seemed REALLY high. nothing worth owning for less than $1000 canadian. i only looked in one store, though, so maybe they were overpriced.

Well for certain guitars they are more expensive here after you convert the currencies, but these tend to be American made guitars, which makes sense why they're cheaper there. Asian made guitars are from my experience the same price in Canada and the US after converting the currency.
